Heartburn
Center
Collaboration among the center’s
gastroenterologists, surgeons and radiologists provides expertise in
the management of patients with heartburn and reflux.
The latest in technology is used to diagnose and treat patients with
reflux. Skilled surgeons perform laparoscopic fundoplications as
indicated and the center’s physicians are involved in clinical
research. The Heartburn Center also provides consultative service to
ENT and pulmonary physicians who have patients with reflux-induced
cough, hoarseness and other ENT problems.

disorders, non-cardiac chest pain. Evaluation and treatment of
patients with swallowing disorders such as achalasia, nutcracker
esophagus and esophageal spasm is aided by computerized esophageal
manometry, ambulatory pH studies, and a GI dedicated radiologist.
Consultation with a speech therapist and video barium swallow studies
allow management of those patients with oropharyngeal dysphagia.
Anorectal diseases. Anorectal manometry,
biofeedback and endoscopic ultrasound allow evaluation and treatment of
patients with fecal incontinence, constipation, hemorrhoids, fissures
and fistulas. |
