Educational Programs

As an employee of NMMC, you will be encouraged to advance in your career and to enhance your job performance. As incentive, NMMC has developed several educational and academic programs designed to help you grow professionally.

New Employee Orientation

NEO is a comprehensive program designed to welcome new employees and familiarize them with our mission & vision, critical success factors, culture and philosophy, organizational requirements, and employee benefits.

This program is hosted by the Education Department and/or the Human Resources Department of the community hospitals. New employees benefit from a variety of speakers representing various areas of the organization and are provided with the information and tools needed for a successful beginning as part of the NMHS team.

The program is divided into two segments. Day One, the employee’s first day of employment, includes all mandatory requirements for various credentialing agencies, basic benefit information and CPR for clinical staff. This segment can be conducted at each hospital site in the system. Day Two, or “Culture Day”, is hosted at NMMC-Tupelo as a system-wide celebration of our core philosophies and values, our internal performance management system and key concepts of quality customer service.

All full and part-time staff are required to attend corporate orientation.

Departmental Orientation

In addition to the two-day new employee orientation program required of all NMMC employees, you will participate in a comprehensive departmental orientation program. These programs are designed to acquaint you with NMMC's policies and procedures and to familiarize you with the facilities and equipment.

Continuing Education Programs

NMMC is committed to helping you meet your CEU requirements. Through affiliations, NMMC offers approved CEU programs to employees at all affiliated facilities. The programs are provided in a variety of topics appropriate for your area of expertise. Continuing education programs are also provided through subscription to the Health Sciences Television Network.

Academic Reimbursement

NMMC's academic reimbursement program allows employees to advance their education. You may apply for academic reimbursement after one year of full-time employment. With the appropriate prior approval, you may be reimbursed for academic coursework.

Certification Reimbursement
