Center
Since
1991, North Mississippi Medical Center’s Cancer
Center has
provided a full scope of services to diagnose, treat and help
prevent
cancer, as well as offered support to cancer patients
and their families. As one of the three teaching hospital cancer
programs in Mississippi to be approved by the American College
of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer, the NMMC Cancer Center has
established itself as a leader in cancer care throughout north
Mississippi, northwest Alabama and portions of Tennessee.
 Pathology
(Lab)
Composed of
technicians, support staff, technologist, physicians, and
students, the lab provides an environment where staff opt to
specialize or remain a generalist.
Pharmacy
NMMC pharmacist
work with patients, physicians and other health care providers
to offer comprehensive, high-quality medical care. Working in a
comprehensive health care system offers extensive learning
opportunities and experience in pharmaceutical care.
 Radiology
Composed of a
wide variety of diagnostic and specialty areas, the NMMC Radiology Department offers a fast paced environment
working with state-of the equipment, and caring, knowledgeable
professionals in radiologic technology, nuclear medicine,
Positron Emission Tomography (PET), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT),
ultrasound, special procedures and mammography. Technologists
treat patients of all ages with a variety of medical conditions.
 Rehabilitation
Our
Rehabilitation department is based upon the multi-disciplinary
team approach. It is the goal of a staff of 20 physical
therapists, 14 occupational therapists, and 12 speech-language
pathologists to evaluate and establish a treatment plan with one
goal in mind—that the patient achieve the highest level of
functioning possible to resume a more active and productive
lifestyle.
 Respiratory
NMMC
Respiratory Therapists provide dedicated coverage for Adult
Intensive Care, a Pulmonary specialty floor, the Emergency
Department, the NICU, Skilled Nursing Facility and overflow ICU
through traditional and non-conventional ventilation procedures
with state-of-the-art equipment. |
