Survey Results Help NMMC Continue to Improve Work Environment |

Eighty-six percent of North Mississippi Medical Center employees participated in an employee opinion survey in May 2006.
Responses were divided in numerous ways so comparisons would be made among all NMMC staff and health care organizations nationwide. NMMC exceeded the overall job satisfaction dimension, which is considered to be the most important category. Eighty-three percent of NMMC employees are satisfied overall with the organization and their jobs, compared to 73 percent nationwide. This response suggests that our staff members gain satisfaction and motivation from work, have an excellent relationship with coworkers, and have a positive attitude toward their supervisor's knowledge, skills and ability to provide the necessary resources and support for work to be completed. Based on these results, NMMC ranks in the 93rd percentile of health care organizations nationally. This accomplishment comes at a time when nationwide overall employee satisfaction is declining because of changing patient demographics and increased pressures for employees to perform more procedures in less time with less staff. |
