Medical Staff

David G. Booth, D.O.: Graduated from the Southeastern University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Miami, Fla. He completed his residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Dr. Booth is a board-certified family physician. In 2010, he received three-year recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)/American Diabetes Association (ADA) Diabetes Physician Recognition Program.

Jewell Huffman III, M.D.: Completed his undergraduate studies at Southern Illinois University, earning a bachelor's degree in engineering. Earned a degree in nursing from Mississippi University for Women before receiving his medical training at Ross University. Dr. Huffman completed his resident training at Louisiana State University School of Medicine, where he was selected chief resident. He is a member of the American Association of Family Physicians.

Charles A. Ozborn, M.D.: A board-certified family physician, received his medical training at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and completed his residency at Mississippi Baptist Hospital in Jackson. In 2010, Dr. Ozborn received three-year recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)/American Diabetes Association (ADA) Diabetes Physician Recognition Program.

Christy Vowell, D.O.: Graduated magna cum laude from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology. She completed her medical training at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and her residency at North Mississippi Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Center. During her studies, she was the recipient of the KCUMB Primary Care Award and the Dr. Leonard Smith Scholarship.

Cherryl Avent, CFNP: Earned her undergraduate degree and Family Nurse Practitioner certification from the University of Mississippi in Oxford. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Lajoyce Stewart, FNP:
Earned her master's degree in nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner certification from Mississippi University for Women in Columbus. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Office Hours

Our clinic is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m.


Appointments may be made by calling (662) 258-7200 during office hours. Appointments may be requested with the health care provider of your choice. Every effort will be made to provide the earliest possible appointment for the convenience of the patient. Due to the unscheduled nature of emergencies, occasional delays do occur. We hope you will understand these delays are unavoidable.

We accept walk-in patients. However, walk-in patients will be worked into the schedule as time permits.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please cancel as far in advance as possible. Another patient who can be booked into the open time will be grateful for your thoughtfulness.

In the event that a patient needs a service or medical care that isn’t provided by Eupora Family Medical Clinic, the health care provider on duty will provide a referral to that service and/or medical specialty during regular business hours. Eupora Family Medical Clinic is open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday- Saturday. If a patient needs access to care when the clinic is closed, those patients may opt to receive care from North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora’s Emergency Department.

Patient Portal Offers Secure Online Services to Your Health Information

We now have the ability to exchange secure online correspondence with our patients and keep your information up-to-date. If you have Internet access and sign up for this service, you will have the ability to do the following at your convenience:

· View your patient chart summary

· Request an appointment

· Request a medication refill

· View test results

· Change personal information

· Access forms

To access the service, you will register using a PIN (Personal Identification Number) that will be provided by our clinic staff to you in a personalized letter after a visit to our clinic. The PIN will expire in 30 days. If your PIN has expired before you access your account, please visit us in person to obtain a new PIN. To ensure patient confidentiality, we do not provide this information over the phone.
