To provide the company with
comprehensive health care services, Acclaim can manage the administrative
duties and claims management responsibilities of the company's COBRA
policy. Acclaim stays abreast of COBRA and HIPAA legislation on state
and federal levels to keep employers informed of the issues facing their
business.
Acclaim personnel will also
answer questions terminated participants may have and are available to solve
any claims problems that may arise.
Examples of the types of
correspondence Acclaim handles are:
| Department of Labor general notice
- supplied to each covered employee and family at the time of
commencement of coverage.
COBRA election notice - a full
election letter packet specifying details of the opportunity to
continue coverage for the employee and any family member covered at
the time of the qualifying event. A separate letter to the
spouse is included.
Certificate of Coverage - sent
when coverage ceases for any reason - per the Health Insurance
Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). |
