Medical Staff

John W. Allen Jr., M.D., graduated summa cum laude from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor's degree in biology. He completed his medical studies at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and his internal medicine residency at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Dr. Allen is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

H. Alan Flowers, M.D., a board-certified internal medicine physician, received his medical training at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

Frank S. Fortenberry, M.D., completed his medical studies at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and his internal medicine internship and residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospital. He is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

C. Lee Greer, M.D., graduated summa cum laude from Mississippi State University with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. He completed his medical studies at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and his family practice residency at the University of Tennessee in Jackson, where he served as chief resident.

Lynn W. Harkins, M.D., graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy with a bachelor's of science in pharmacy. She completed her medical studies at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and her internal medicine internship and residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

J. Kenneth Harvey, M.D., received his medical training at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Richard Hendrick, M.D., received his medical training at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at Methodist Hospital of Memphis. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Eugene M. Murphey III, M.D., completed his medical studies at Tulane University School of Medicine, his internship and residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, La., and his fellowship at Oschner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans.

Sara Elizabeth Owen, M.D., graduated summa cum laude from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Ark., with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and biology. She received her medical training and completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences School of Medicine in Little Rock. Dr.Owen is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Amit Prasad, M.D., completed his medical training in New Delhi, India, and his internal medicine internship and residency at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in New York, an affiliate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He also completed a fellowship in geriatrics at Winthrop University Hospital in New York. Dr. Prasad is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Daryl Schroader, M.D., graduated from Harvard University with a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry. He received his medical training at Hahneman University in Philadelphia, PA, and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Melanie Wallace, M.D., completed her medical studies at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and her residency in internal medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She is also a medical review officer.

Michelle Turba, CANP, a certified adult and geriatric nurse practitioner, received her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. She completed her master’s degree in nursing and nurse practitioner training at the University of Florida in Gainesville. She is board certified by both the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
 

Infectious Diseases Physicians

Malinda "Mindy" Prewitt, M.D., received a bachelor's degree in biology from Mississippi College in Clinton and completed her medical training at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, as well as her infectious disease fellowship. Dr. Prewitt is a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease Society of America, American Medical Association and Mississippi State Medical Association.

Max R. Taylor, M.D., completed his medical training at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and his internal medicine internship and residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he also completed a fellowship in infectious disease. Dr. Taylor is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Critical Care Medicine, American Board of Infectious Diseases, American Board of Infection Control and American Board of Clinical Microbiology.

Our clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Appointments

Appointments may be made by calling (662) 377-5000 during office hours. Every effort will be made to provide the earliest possible appointment for the convenience of the patient. Due to the unscheduled nature of emergencies, occasional delays do occur. We hope you will understand these delays are unavoidable.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please cancel as far in advance as possible. Another patient who can be booked into the open time will be grateful for your thoughtfulness.
