John Heer serves as president and chief executive officer for North Mississippi Health Services.
Heer, who joined NMHS in 2004, previously worked as president of Baptist Hospital Inc. in Pensacola, Fla. His accomplishments include restructuring the corporate board governance to be more transparent, open and responsive to the communities served; reorganizing the leadership structure according to service lines, initiating a Servant Leadership philosophy, reconnecting with the community, improving communication with employees, physicians and the Board, hard wiring several leadership systems to enhance alignment and deployment throughout the organization; and leading the organization's efforts in its receipt of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark., and a master’s degree in health care administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
