Medical Staff

Stephen M. Shirley, M.D.: Completed his medical studies at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and his residency at the Medical University of South Carolina.



Lisa Clark, FNP-C: Received a bachelor’s degree in family and consumer sciences and nutrition from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson. She received her master’s degree in nursing on the family nurse practitioner track from Union University in Jackson, Tenn.



Kara Rushing, FNP-C: Received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, and her master’s degree in nursing from the University of Alabama-Birmingham. She is board-certified by and a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Office Hours

Our clinic is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays 8 a.m. to noon.


Appointments may be made by calling (662) 534-5036 during office hours. Appointments may be requested with the health care provider of your choice. Every effort will be made to provide the earliest possible appointment for the convenience of the patient. Due to the unscheduled nature of emergencies, occasional delays do occur. We hope you will understand these delays are unavoidable.

We accept walk-in patients. However, walk-in patients will be worked into the schedule as time permits.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please cancel as far in advance as possible. Another patient who can be booked into the open time will be grateful for your thoughtfulness.

After Hours Care

If you have health care questions after hours, please call Nurse Link® at (662) 377-3007 or 1-800-882-6274. If you have a health care emergency, please call 9-1-1 or visit the nearest Emergency Department.

Scope of Services

New Albany Medical Clinic offers the following services:

  • Adult acute and chronic care

  • Well child/sick child care

  • Wellness exams

  • Preoperative evaluation of patients

  • EKG

  • Lab

  • Minor procedures

  • X-ray

  • Allergy therapy

  • Pap smears

  • Drug testing


In the event that a patient needs a service or medical care that isn’t provided by New Albany Medical Clinic, the health care provider on duty will provide a referral to that service and/or medical specialty during regular business hours. New Albany Medical Clinic is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m.-noon Friday. If a patient needs access to care when the clinic is closed, those patients may opt to receive care from North Mississippi Medical Center-Pontotoc’s Emergency Department.


Patient Portal Offers Secure Online Services to Your Health Information

We now have the ability to exchange secure online correspondence with our patients and keep your information up-to-date. If you have Internet access and sign up for this service, you will have the ability to do the following at your convenience:

· View your patient chart summary

· Request an appointment

· Request a medication refill

· View test results

· Change personal information

· Access forms

To access the service, you will register using a PIN (Personal Identification Number) that will be provided by our clinic staff to you in a personalized letter after a visit to our clinic. The PIN will expire in 30 days. If your PIN has expired before you access your account, please visit us in person to obtain a new PIN. To ensure patient confidentiality, we do not provide this information over the phone.
