NMHS PROMOTES JANE GEORGE TO CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

TUPELO, Miss. – North Mississippi Health Services, the parent company of North Mississippi Medical Center, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jane George as vice president and chief financial officer.

George has served as an NMHS vice president and controller since 1990 and played an important role in directing the organization’s financial functions.

“For a number of years Jane has coordinated the budgeting process at North Mississippi Health Services, and she has been primarily responsible for the production of the capital plan each year,” said Gerald Wages, NMHS chief operating officer. Prior to George’s promotion, Wages served as CFO from 1969, the year he started, until 1998 when he was promoted to COO. “Throughout her 22-year career at NMHS, Jane has made a significant contribution to the success of the organization through her work in financial planning and financial management,” Wages said.

George joined NMHS in 1982 as the first director of the newly formed Systems and Audit Department. She became the director of the Accounting Department in 1986.

Prior to joining NMHS, George, a certified public accountant, worked with Price Waterhouse in Birmingham.

She is married to Laf George.             They reside in Tupelo.
