TUPELO, Miss.—Gail Morton (second from right),
art teacher at North Pontotoc High School, gets help loading a ceramic kiln
from her father, Dr. Donald Russell (left) and daughter Tristan Morton as well
as North Mississippi Medical Center's Behavioral Health Center employees
Kathryn Sansing, RN, Rene Horton, activities coordinator, Tina Samples, RN, and
Renee Harrington, activities assistant. Morton said the school had held several
fundraisers in the hope of purchasing a ceramic kiln for students to use, but
kilns are so expensive they had not been able to buy one. When employees at the
NMMC Behavioral Health Center learned of the need, they donated the center's
kiln to the school. Morton said her students are excited to begin ceramics
projects with their own kiln.
