TUPELO, Miss.—Tim Williams (center), director of North Mississippi Medical Center’s Rehabilitation Institute, and the staff present a donation of $667 to Cindy Edwards (left), social worker at the NMMC Cancer Center, and Dean Hancock, president of the Health Care Foundation of North Mississippi, to benefit the Cancer Center Patient Assistance Fund. The fund, which is administered by the Foundation, assists patients and their families with medications, nutritional supplements and transportation. The Rehabilitation Institute staff also donated $335 to the Komen North Mississippi Race for the Cure® to benefit area breast cancer patients. Staff members raised money throughout October by selling homemade snacks and lunches, as well as by paying $5 each for the privilege of wearing jeans on Fridays.
