WEST
POINT, Miss.—North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point hopes to help keep the
flu out of town this year by offering $15 flu shots to eligible individuals
Thursday, Nov. 18, at the hospital’s Wellness Center.
Flu
shots will be given at the Wellness Center, 851 Medical Center Drive, from 9
a.m.-3 p.m. or until they run out. Flu shots will be available for $15 to:

adults age 65 years and older;
·
· persons age 16-64
years with underlying chronic medical conditions;
·
· all women who
will be pregnant during the influenza season;
·
· residents of
nursing homes and long-term care facilities;
·
· health care
workers involved in direct patient care; and
·
out-of-home
caregivers and household contacts of children under age 6 months.
Persons
eligible for Medicare Part B, who have Medicare as their primary insurance, may
get flu shots with no deductible or co-payment with presentation of Medicare
card.
Influenza
is a viral infection that can lead to a much more serious illness like
