NMMC-WEST POINT HONORS AVANT

AS OUTSTANDING EMPLOYEE

 

          WEST POINT, Miss.—Teresa Avant, financial counselor with the Business Services Department, has been selected by her peers as the most recent Employee of the Quarter at North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point.

          Avant joined the hospital staff in 1997. A graduate of West Clay High School, she earned a bachelor’s degree from Rust College in Holly Springs in 1992.

“Teresa is always pleasant and smiling when dealing with customers, and she does anything she can to help them. She is resourceful to patients who need to seek other sources of payment options by helping them complete the necessary applications,” co-workers stated in her nomination. “Teresa is very patient and kind to all her customers. She is helpful and makes each customer feel special.”

          Avant was also cited for her professionalism and leadership. “What I love most about my job is having a unique opportunity to provide excellent customer service to various people from different backgrounds and cultures,” Avant said. “I enjoy assisting them with their accounts and offering encouraging words of inspiration.”

She and her husband, Keith Valliant, have one son, Justin. They are members of Bluff Creek M.B. Church in Maben. Avant is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
