SELECTS
EMPLOYEE OF THE QUARTER
HAMILTON, Ala.—Shannon Blaker, LPN, has been selected as the most recent Employee of the Quarter at North Mississippi Medical Center-Hamilton Nursing Home.
Blaker, a licensed practical nurse, has served as a charge nurse with the nursing home since 2003.
‘The best part of my job is knowing that I’m helping someone each and every day in some small way,” Blaker said. “I try to make each resident feel like they are important and special. We should always treat everyone with kindness.”
In nominating Blaker for the award, a coworker stated, “Shannon always has a smile on her face. She is caring and compassionate to the residents and her coworkers. She is ready to help anyone that needs help. She is an excellent charge nurse.”
Blaker was also cited for her display of compassionate care, teamwork and leadership.
A graduate of Hamilton High School, Blaker received her nursing degree from Bevill State Community College.
Blaker and her husband, Jamie, have three children: Corey, 12, Caleb, 8, and Carley, 11 months. They are members of Nix’s Chapel Church of God.
