JONES NAMED EMPLOYEE OF THE QUARTER

AT NMMC-PONTOTOC

PONTOTOC, Miss.—Marie Jones of Algoma was named the Employee of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2004 at North Mississippi Medical Center-Pontotoc.

Jones, a human resources assistant, has been with the Pontotoc facility since January 2002.

In her nomination, it was noted that Jones goes above and beyond her job requirements to help with staffing concerns at the hospital and nursing facility. “Marie is very sensitive to the needs of all employees,” the nomination stated. “She took on additional responsibilities willingly and did a good job.”

Jones was also described as thorough and detail-oriented. “Marie approaches her job in a professional manner at all times, seeks ways to improve what she does and displays a willingness and eagerness to learn more,” a coworker said.

A graduate of Algoma High School, Jones has two daughters—Donna Warren of Pontotoc and Dana Mann of Tupelo—and five grandchildren.

“I enjoy the people I work with from all the departments at the hospital and nursing home,” Jones said. “I also enjoy meeting and helping our customers that come through human resources. NMMC-Pontotoc is a friendly place to work.”

Jones attends church at The Orchard in Tupelo. She is an active member of the Algoma Homemakers and the Northeast Mississippi Dulcimer Association. In her spare time, she enjoys quilting, gardening, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She also volunteers her time each year to help with the Bodock Festival and Cross-Tie Festival.
