NMMC-IUKA CELEBRATES 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY

IUKA, Miss.—North Mississippi Medical Center-Iuka is hosting an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the hospital. The ceremony will be held in the hospital’s front lobby.

            Local politicians, as well as representatives from the medical staff, hospital advisory board and NMMC health care system will also participate in the ceremony.

            “We consider it a privilege to have served our residents’ health care needs during the last 10 years,” said Jamie Carter, NMMC-Iuka administrator. “Our hospital offers a wide range of services close to home for Tishomingo County residents, as well as immediate access to a full range of subspecialty medical services at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. The resources available through our hospital help our physicians and staff fulfill our corporate mission of continuously improving the health of the people of our region.”

NMMC-Iuka, a not-for-profit hospital, includes 40 beds dedicated to general acute care and an eight-bed Intensive Care Unit. Services include general acute care, intensive care and coronary care, emergency services, pediatrics and geriatrics. In addition, NMMC-Iuka has a full-service laboratory and provides clinical pharmacy, radiology, rehabilitation and respiratory therapy services.

NMMC-Iuka has a well-equipped and staffed emergency department and a paramedic level ambulance service providing 24-hour coverage. In addition to caring for the sick, NMMC-Iuka’s role as a health care provider includes educating people to maintain good health through the NMMC Live Well community health initiative. The professional staff provides outreach programs on health education, industrial medicine and preventive services throughout the service area.

The hospital’s active medical staff includes physicians specializing in general and family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, radiology and pathology.
