TUPELO, Miss.—Tommie E. Pinkins, RN and a childbirth educator at the North Mississippi Medical Center Women’s Hospital, recently completed the rigorous training and certification requirements to become a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE).
The goal of Lamaze Childbirth Educator Certification is to provide competent, highly qualified childbirth educators who work as advocates for childbearing women. The LCCE credential identifies one who has completed training, passed a thorough examination and embraced the Lamaze philosophy of promoting, supporting and protecting normal birth through education and advocacy.
NMMC Women’s Hospital will begin offering an intensive weekend Lamaze course on two consecutive Saturdays in December. These classes are in addition to NMMC’s family of other childbirth programs. For more information, call (662) 377-4956 or 1-800-THE DESK (1-800-843-3375).
