TUPELO, Miss.-Dean
Hancock (right), president of the Health Care Foundation of North Mississippi,
and Judy Harrison (left), administrative director of North Mississippi Medical
Center’s Pathology Department, present Tameka Gasaway Evans of Tupelo and Peggy
Crawford of Ripley with $500 scholarships in memory of Paul Hamblin, who served
as director of the NMMC Pathology Department from 1961-1970. Evans, who is a senior
medical technology student at Mississippi State University, and Crawford, who
is a senior medical technology student at the University of Mississippi, are
completing a year of internship at NMMC. Working closely with the students is
Lee Montgomery (back), director of NMMC's Medical Technology Program. Harrison
was the first recipient of the Paul Hamblin Memorial Scholarship in 1972. For
