HOLD FIRST ‘WE CARE
WORKDAY’
TUPELO, Miss.—Homes across north Mississippi are in better shape
after the first “We Care Workday” Nov. 15 organized by the North Mississippi
Medical Center Home Health Agency and Hospice.
In celebration of National Home Health Month, more than 200
employees and family members from the organization’s six branch offices tackled
home improvement projects, such as improving handicap accessibility and roof
repairs, to house cleaning and yard work. Home health staff identified
individuals with special needs and the “We Care Workday” project coordinators
compiled a listing of those in need and matched them with individuals who could
help meet these needs.
NMMC
Home Health Agency serves 17 counties in northeast Mississippi. The agency’s
branch offices are located in Amory, Eupora, Fulton, Pontotoc, Ripley and
Tupelo.
Representatives
from the Tupelo office, the rehabilitation department and Hospice worked on
projects at homes in Tupelo, Baldwyn, Plantersville, Okolona, Shannon and
Saltillo. The Amory branch office’s projects included homes in Amory, Aberdeen,
Smithville, Cedar Bluff and West Point. Residents of Stewart, Bellefontaine and
Weir benefited from the volunteer efforts of the Eupora branch office’s
employees. Fulton staffers worked in Mantachie that day. Pontotoc branch office
employees helped with projects in Pontotoc, Ecru, Houlka, Houston, Okolona and
Woodland. Ripley staffers completed projects in Snow Lake Shores, Baldwyn,
