COOKBOOK SALES TO BENEFIT

DIABETES ASSISTANCE FUND

TUPELO, Miss.-Looking for a unique Christmas present for someone who enjoys cooking? North Mississippi Medical Center’s Diabetes Treatment Center is selling “The Joy of Sharing,” a new cookbook to benefit local individuals with diabetes.

“The Joy of Sharing” cookbook contains recipes that have been modified to be lower in fat and carbohydrates. The cookbook also contains some recipes that are slightly higher in fat and carbohydrates, and are recommended for occasional use only. All recipes have the nutritional values included.

The cookbook was compiled by health care professionals and diabetes patients, many of whom participate in Diabetes Support Groups at NMMC hospitals in Tupelo, Eupora, Pontotoc and Hamilton, Ala. The cost is $10, and proceeds benefit the NMMC Diabetes Assistance Fund, which serves needy diabetes patients throughout north Mississippi and northwest Alabama.
