WEST POINT, Miss.—Signs of the times now flank the campus of North
Mississippi Medical Center-West Point.
The local hospital’s name officially changed several months ago to
better reflect its affiliation with North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo,
a major medical center serving 650,000 residents throughout a 22-county service
area. New signs were placed at the West Point facility last week.
Over the years, the
health care company that grew out of North Mississippi Medical Center had
become known as North Mississippi Health Services, which now includes community
hospitals, physician offices, nursing homes, a home health agency and an array
of Health Link® managed care plans.
“Our patients,
families and friends have told us that they want to receive their health care
from North Mississippi Medical Center, because that’s the name that they know,
love and, best of all, trust,” said Tim Moore, administrator of NMMC-West
Point. “In that spirit, we changed the hospital’s name to North Mississippi
Medical Center.”
NMMC has hospitals
located in Eupora, Iuka, Pontotoc, Tupelo, West Point and Hamilton, Ala. The
company also includes North Mississippi Medical Clinics, including West Point
Medical Clinic, IMA-West Point, The Women’s Group-West Point and the Children’s
Clinic.
NMMC’s corporate mission is to continuously improve the health of
the people of the region. For more information on the services provided by the
