2009 Winners

Advanced Practice Nurse of the Year Becky Dorough, MSN, APN, BC, of Tupelo has been an NMMC employee for 30 years and is a certified family nurse practitioner at the Garfield Clinic. She received her bachelor and master’s degrees in nursing from Mississippi University for Women.

Nurse of the Year Jan Starling, RN, of Guntown works for NMMC Home Health and Hospice and has been employed by NMMC for 17 years. She graduated from nursing school at Northeast Mississippi Community College in 1991.

Nurse Researcher of the Year Kim Jones, RN, BSN, of Belden has been an NMMC employee for 17 years and currently serves as outcomes manager for the NMMC Heart Institute. She received her associate’s degree from Itawamba Community College and her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of North Alabama.

Nursing Administrator of the Year Leigh Anne Puckett, RN, MSN, of Tupelo, works for NMMC Home Health and Hospice. An NMMC employee for eight years, she received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and a master’s degree in nursing from Delta State University.
