Children’s of Mississippi is the umbrella organization that includes all pediatric care affiliated with the University of Mississippi Medical Center, including Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson.

Charles Benjamin Meeks, D.O.

 

Dr. Meeks received his bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from the University of Mississippi in Oxford. He earned his medical degree from Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, Ky., where he was a member of Sigma Sigma Phi honor society. He completed his residency at the University of Tennessee, Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis. He joined the clinic staff in 2015.

 

 

 

Charles R. “Skip” Robertson, Jr., M.D.

 

Dr. Robertson is a special distinction graduate of the University of Mississippi in Oxford with a bachelor’s degree in history and minors in Greek and English. He earned his medical degree in 1975 from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson. He was a magna cum laude graduate, served as junior class vice president and was inducted into the AOA honorary society. He completed a residency at the University of Mississippi Medical School in 1978 and a fellowship in ambulatory pediatrics at Children’s Hospital in Boston, Mass., in 1986. He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and joined the clinic staff in 1987.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Van D. Stone, III, M.D.

 

Dr. Stone earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Mississippi College in Clinton. He graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson in 1983. He completed a residency at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock in 1986. He joined the clinic staff in 1993 and has a special interest in Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Eric L. Street, M.D.

 

Dr. Street earned an associate’s degree from Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville and a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi College in Clinton. In 2006 he earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, where he was involved with the Christian Medical and Dental Association. He completed a residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2009. He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American College of Pediatricians. Veronica Valdez, M.D.

 

Dr. Valdez studied humanities and pre-medicine at the University of the Philippines. In 1987 she earned her medical degree at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, where she was a member of Mu Sigma Phi sorority. She completed a residency at State University of New York Downstate/King’s County Hospital in 1993. She completed a fellowship in clinical pediatric endocrinology at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, N.Y, in 1994. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and joined the clinic staff in 2008.


Danielle Woodruff, FNP-BC

 

Danielle Woodruff earned an associate’s degree in nursing from Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of North Alabama in Florence. She completed her master’s degree in nursing and nurse practitioner training at Union University in Germantown, Tenn. She is board certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center and joined the clinic staff in 2014.

Jennifer L. Grisham, M.D.

 

Dr. Grisham earned a bachelor’s degree in biological engineering in 1998 from Mississippi State University in Starkville. She earned her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson in 2003. She completed a residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2006. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and joined the clinic staff in 2006.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Thomas A. Ireland, M.D.

 

Dr. Ireland completed his bachelor’s degree in 1977 from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, graduating cum laude as a University Scholar with a double major in chemistry and zoology and a minor in English. In 1981 he earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, where he earned the Goldberger Scholarship in Clinical Nutrition. He completed a pediatric internship and residency at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Ga., in 1984 and a fellowship in adolescent medicine at UMMC in Jackson in 1986. He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society for Adolescent Medicine. Amy S. Price, M.D.

 

Dr. Price earned a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from the University of Mississippi in Oxford in 1987. She earned her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson in 1996 and served as secretary/treasurer of her class. She completed her residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson in 1999. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and joined the clinic staff in 2006.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



Tina M. King, FNP-C

Tina King earned her associate’s degree in nursing from Itawamba Community College in Fulton in 2002 and her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Mississippi University for Women in 2011. She completed her master’s degree in nursing and nurse practitioner training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2013. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and joined the clinic staff in 2014.

Both clinics are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Appointments may be made by calling the Tupelo office at (662) 844-9885 or the Saltillo office at (662) 844-9885 during office hours. Same day appointments are usually available and may be requested with the health care provider of your choice. Due to the unscheduled nature of emergencies at the hospital, nursery or clinic, occasional delays do occur. We hope you will understand these delays are unavoidable.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please cancel as far in advance as possible. Another patient who can be booked into the open time will be grateful for your thoughtfulness.

We now have the ability to exchange secure online correspondence with our patients and keep your information up-to-date. If you have Internet access and sign up for this service, you will have the ability to do the following at your convenience:

To access the service, you will register using a PIN (Personal Identification Number) that will be provided by our clinic staff to you in a personalized letter after a visit to our clinic. The PIN will expire in 30 days. If your PIN has expired before you access your account, please visit us in person to obtain a new PIN. To ensure patient confidentiality, we do not provide this information over the phone.
