Patient-Friendly Bills
At North Mississippi Medical Center, we
continually strive to improve our service to you, our valued
patients. In keeping with that commitment, we have developed an
improved billing process that we believe will better meet your
needs.
We are making the transition from the old statement to the new
statements, which made their debut this week for North
Mississippi Medical Center's hospitals in Tupelo, Eupora, Iuka,
Pontotoc, West Point and Hamilton, Ala. However, some patients
will receive statements using the old format as we complete the
billing cycle.
We have made every effort to make changes that will answer the
most frequently asked questions and address concerns about our
billing format. A brief explanation of the new statement will be
included with each statement. (See
sample of bill here)
Another enhancement is dividing the statement into sections. The
front page includes correspondence about the status of the
account. If an individual has questions about the account, each
statement will include contact information specific to that
hospital. For example, NMMC-Tupelo statements will include phone
numbers, 1-888-615-0595 (toll-free), (662) 377-3219 (local);
e-mail address, business.services.tupelo@nmhs.net; street
address, 1494 Cliff Gookin Blvd., Tupelo, MS 38801; and office
hours, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
The back page includes a summary of charges, along with a
listing and contact information of other bills you may receive.
In addition to a hospital statement, patients may receive bills
from their physician, other doctors who assisted in their care
or from other medical specialists. Patients also will be asked
to complete a detachable form if any changes to their
demographic (such as a name or address change) and insurance
information have occurred since the last statement.
Your feedback played an important role in the development of
this new patient-friendly bill, and we look forward to your
comments about this new process. Thank you
