Leaving the Hospital

Your Discharge

Discharge planning nurses are available to assist you and your family with services that may be required after you are discharged from the hospital. If you would like to speak with someone regarding available options, please call extension 3810.

Your physician will order your discharge from the hospital. On the day you leave, your nurse will give you a discharge slip to present to the Business Services discharge clerk. If you have not completed your financial arrangements, you will need to visit a Business Services representative prior to leaving the hospital. If at admission time you have made arrangements for your bill, you will receive a courtesy discharge letter, and you will not be required to make any further payment at the time of your discharge.

Please check your room before leaving to be sure that no personal items are left behind. You will be escorted to the discharge area by an ambassador, nursing service representative or volunteer. A family member or friend may pick you up there.

In the event you need health care services in the future or would like more information about our services, call THE DESK at 1-800-843-3375.
