The NMMC Pharmacy offers a wide array of clinical services seven days a week. Our diversified staff of pharmacists, many of whom are residency trained, enjoys excellent relationships with physicians, other disciplines and patients. Our diversified staff of technicians, including certified technicians, offers clinical support.
The NMMC Pharmacy features state-of-the-art automation and technology to support safe medication use, including a medication history program with automated discharge summary, as well as on-line drug information and formulary. Our staff has a strong commitment to medication safety, as evidenced by our Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and Performance Improvement Teams. Staff pharmacists are actively involved in protocols, serving on interdisciplinary teams throughout the hospital organization.
The NMMC Pharmacy also has a strong commitment to educate patients, pharmacy, hospital staff, physicians and community residents.
On-site continuing education is approved by ACPE and the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy. NMMC is a primary care practice site for family medicine and internal medicine, and offers a shadowing program for future pharmacy students.
The NMMC Pharmacy also offers an immunization program for flu and pneumonia, prescribed by pharmacists.
