Purpose
Early therapy helps stimulate normal development, healthy
self-concept, cognitive process and emotional maturation. Treatment
helps promote independence in self-care, mobility, social adjustment,
gross/fine motor skills and communication.

Occupational
therapists base their treatment on purposeful activities of daily
living. Physical therapists specialize in therapeutic exercise and
mobility. Speech-language pathologists specialize in treatment of
language, speech, cognition-linguistic functioning, and swallowing
deficits. Working as a team, these rehabilitation professionals aim to
maximize each child’s potential. Our therapists hold bachelor’s or
master’s degrees from accredited university programs and complete
additional training courses in specialty areas each year.
Team Approach
Our program consists of evaluations, treatment and consultation, all
coordinated within the multidisciplinary setting at North Mississippi
Medical Center.
Goal
Helping children reach their potentials for development, strength,
communication and movement through rehabilitation.
