Purpose
Our mission at the Wheelchair Seating Clinic is to provide clients with a comprehensive clinic in a convenient setting. We will provide evaluation and recommendation for the client’s wheelchair equipment needs including positioning devices, cushions and modifications. A qualified therapist will also monitor skin integrity.

Goals
Our goals are to:

	Provide a comprehensive evaluation for clients who are required to spend more than four hours a day in a wheelchair
	Make necessary modifications to our client’s existing wheelchair and/or cushion
	Provide the client with periodic re-evaluations to determine if existing equipment should be upgraded
	Monitor changes in skin integrity caused by prolonged sitting
	Provide the client and caregivers with education regarding management of wheelchair equipment, skin care and positioning alternatives
	Provide emotional support and a link to community resources
