Pre-Op Procedures
| For Children: |
| 1. | Patients should not eat or drink after midnight prior to surgery. |
| 2. | Dress child in comfortable clothes or pajamas. Sweat pants or leggings may be worn with hospital gown for warmth. Bring extra diapers or underwear and a pair of socks. |
| 3. | For babies, infants and toddlers: bring a bottle of clear liquid (such as apple juice, 7-Up, tea, or Pedialyte). Bottle-fed babies need a bottle of milk or formula labeled with child's name. Toddlers need a non-spill cup. These will be given after surgery. |
| 4. | Bring a favorite blanket or stuffed animal. |
| 5. | Because of limited space, only two adult family members should accompany the patient the day of surgery. One adult must remain at the Surgery Center until the patient is discharged. |
| 6. | Please call (662) 377-4700 between 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. the day before your child's surgery for your child's arrival time. For Monday procedures, please call the Friday prior. Please note that the arrival time allows time for paperwork and other procedures and is not the time your child will be taken for surgery. |

For Adults: |
| 1. | Patients should not eat or drink after midnight prior to surgery. |
| 2. | Wear comfortable clothes. Patients having eye, ear or nose surgeries are asked to wear a shirt that buttons in the front. All patients should bring or wear a pair of warm socks or knee-high stockings. |
| 3. | Patients may wear make-up unless having facial, neck or dental surgery. |
| 4. | Jewelry and contact lenses cannot be worn to the operating room. Patients may leave these items at home or give them to a family member for safekeeping. |
| 5. | Because of limited space, only two family members should accompany the patient the day of surgery. One family member must remain at the Surgery Center until the patient is discharged. |
