Adult Volunteers

Volunteers 18 years and older are welcome throughout the NMMC campus in Tupelo and in Baldwyn.

Volunteers may work in clinical areas, assist with patient and visitor comfort, and perform clerical duties. Volunteers can also spend time with patients and help with crafts.

Volunteers set their own work hours and while most work at least four hours per week, there is no minimum requirement. Some volunteers who have limited time offer to help with special projects and events.

Volunteers work in many departments and areas of NMMC. In addition to the main hospital, volunteer sites include:

Teen Volunteers

The Volunteer Services Department sponsors a summer volunteer program for students who may be interested in pursuing a career in health care or who simply would like to make a difference is someone's life.

Eligible students must have completed the ninth-12th grades by June 1 of that year. Although no student can administer any form of direct patient care, they can help with comfort measures for patients and also see how the hospital works.

Application deadline is March 31, and applications are available at area school guidance offices or from the NMMC Volunteer Services Department. Applicants will be interviewed and notified of selection. Students selected for the program will be assigned specific work hours and expected to keep their schedule with the exception of illness or vacation.
