Meet the Clinical Educator: Brittany Dallas, BSN, RN

Brittany DallasBrittany Dallas recently assumed the role of Clinical Educator after serving as a nurse in Labor and Delivery for eight years. “I wanted to become a nurse because I love caring for people,” Brittany says. “I also knew I wanted to work with babies. When I was in my Labor and Delivery clinical in nursing school, I fell in love with this area and knew this was what I wanted to do. There is something so special about witnessing a new mother seeing her baby for the first time.”

When asked why she chose to pursue a career at NMMC, Brittany says it was the caring culture that helped her make the decision. “I went to clinicals at several different places, but this felt like home to me. This is a great organization that cares for its employees,” Brittany says.

Brittany and her husband, Camden, have three children. They love spending time together and going to the beach.

Meet the Nurse Manager: Jessica Fears, MSN, RN

Jessical FearsJessica has been with NMHS for 20 years. Jessica was inspired to become a nurse after seeing the wonderful care her cousin’s premature twins received at NMMC Women’s Hospital.

Jessica and her husband have two sons. Jessica enjoys singing and playing sports with her boys.

Meet the Nurse Manager: Melissa Coker

Melissa CokerMelissa has been with NMHS for almost 10 years. Her background includes a variety of specialties, including Long-Term Care, Respiratory, Well Baby Nursery, Neonatal Intermediate/Continuing Care, and Mother/Baby/GYN. “I enjoy nursing because I am able to help others and make a positive difference in their lives,” Melissa said. “At Women’s Hospital, we are honored to be part of such a special time in our patients’ lives. We are truly a family and we are all working toward the same goal – our mission: to continuously improve the health of the people of our region.”

Melissa and her husband live in Mantachie, Miss. with their two daughters and two fur babies.
