Arnett Attains Nutrition Certification

WEST POINT, Miss.—Tracy Stebbins Arnett, director of the North Mississippi Medical CenterWest Point Wellness Center, has earned Precision Nutrition Certification.

The master’s level course, which took six months to complete, included lessons on cell structure and function, food intake, digestion and absorption, energy transformation and metabolism and energy balance. She studied aerobic and anaerobic metabolism, macronutrients, micronutrients, water and fluid balance, and special needs. To prepare her for nutrition coaching, she learned about providing a nutrition plan, nutrition supplementation, setting behavior goals and monitoring, and making nutritional adjustments.

“Precision Nutrition is as much about behavioral change and activity modification as it is about nutrition,” she said. Arnett now offers two free “Eat to be Well” sessions per month for Wellness Center members. She looks forward to kicking off “Litestyle,” a 12-week program promoting healthy lifestyle, in early 2017.
