Holliday and Cunningham Complete Emergency Response Training
TUPELO, Miss.—Emergency room technicians Katherine Cunningham and Karen Holliday recently completed training offered by the Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, Ala.
The Center for Domestic Preparedness is operated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency and is the only federally-chartered Weapons of Mass Destruction training facility in the nation.
“Training at CDC has given me knowledge, insight and experience in dealing with infectious disease and decontamination. It was a great experience that I will not forget,” said Cunningham. She and Holliday expressed appreciation to nurse manager Kathy Terrell for encouraging this type of continuing education.
The Center for Domestic Preparedness offers more than 50 training courses focusing on incident management, mass casualty response and emergency response to a catastrophic natural disaster or terrorist act.
