John Savoy Named NMMC’s Employee of the Month
TUPELO, Miss.— John Savoy, physical therapist with North Mississippi Medical Center Home Health, was recently named as Employee of the Month.
Savoy has worked at NMMC for seven years and is from Tishomingo.
He is a graduate of Jennings High School in Louisiana. Savoy attended Louisiana Tech University and McNeese State University before earning a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Texas Woman’s University.
Savoy previously worked at NMMC-Iuka as the director of Rehabilitation Services from 1987-88. After working for several other organizations, he rejoined NMMC in 2009 with the Home Health agency.
“Over the years the Good Lord has blessed me so many times in my ministry as a physical therapist,” Savoy said. “It has been a joy serving Him in this capacity over the past 39 years. One of the richest blessings I have received was the opportunity to join NMMC’s Home Health team in 2009.”
“I have never been involved with a finer group of professionals and teammates in my career” Savoy added. “There is truly a family environment and feel to the whole department in how we relate to one another. There is always support and encouragement from all of our staff members. I love everything about working for our Home Health agency and NMMC. I hope the Lord will allow me to continue to serve him at NMMC for years to come.”
Savoy is described by coworkers in his nomination as hardworking, enthusiastic and always smiling.
“John has an outstanding work ethic and an optimistic outlook on his professional career, and life in general,” one coworker wrote in his nomination. “He is hard working, conscientious and provides quality services to people in a large coverage area for NMMC Home Health Rehab.”
“John is very caring and kind,” another coworker wrote. “His patients speak highly of him and he is adept at making each patient feel comfortable and at ease.”
His family includes wife Janet Griffin Savoy and daughters Sara White and Molly Windham. He attends Dennis United Methodist Church.
