NMMC Cancer Care Welcomes New Palliative Care Physician

TUPELO, Miss.—North Mississippi Medical Center Cancer Care welcomes new palliative care physician Lindsey Hinton, M.D.

Dr. Hinton will see patients at NMMC Hematology & Oncology who are undergoing cancer treatment. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Dr. Hinton received her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She went on to complete a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in palliative care at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital.

Dr. Hinton is board certified in internal medicine.

Palliative care is specialized medical care that focuses on providing relief from the symptoms and stress of a serious illness. This is a new service provided by NMMC Cancer Care.

Dr. Hinton is joined in Tupelo by her husband, Dr. Benjamin Hinton, new radiation oncologist at NMMC, and their two young daughters.
