Barbara Field Named NMMC’s Employee of the Month
TUPELO, Miss.–Barbara Field, registered nurse for the Heart Institute, was selected as Employee of the Month at North Mississippi Medical Center.
Field has worked at NMMC for 35 years, joining the hospital in 1980. She is a Booneville High School graduate and received her associate’s degree and nurse training at Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville.
“The best part of my job is caring for the patient and family,” Field said. “What I love most about my job is the opportunity to do what I love on a daily basis, skills that are my gift from the Lord, my coworkers and our hospital quality in such a rural area.”
In her nomination coworkers describe Field as hardworking, caring and compassionate.
“Barbara is someone who is always there when we need her, whether to help a teammate with an IV, or to come in early, stay late or work extra,” a coworker wrote in her nomination. Whatever needs doing, she does it. She makes sure things are taken care of in all circumstances that she has control of with a professional, kind, team-oriented approach and keeps things running smoothly.”
“Barbara is willing to do anything that needs to be done, she quickly just gets up to do it and seems eager to help anyone with anything,” another coworker wrote. “She never says ‘that’s not my job’ or ‘ask someone else to do it.’ She doesn’t wait to be asked. She looks for ways to help.”
Field is married to Jackie Field and has two grown sons, Joseph and Zack. She attends Beckley Chapel CME Church in Booneville.
