Brandi Anderson Named NMMC Employee of the Month
TUPELO, Miss.—North Mississippi Medical Center has named Brandi Anderson, registered respiratory therapist, as Employee of the Month for May.
Anderson has worked at NMMC since 2003. She is a graduate of North Pontotoc Attendance Center and earned an associate degree from Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville. She is a 2012 winner of the Respiratory Therapy Department’s Pride Award and was chosen by her peers as department Employee of the Year in 2011.
In her nomination, coworkers praised Anderson for her compassion for patients and abilities in performing her job duties.
“Brandi is an exceptional respiratory care practitioner,” one coworker wrote in her nomination. “She always goes above and beyond for her patients. She gets what they need, whether it is some water or new therapy orders. She is a very good patient advocate.”
“Brandi strives for excellence in every aspect of her job and personal life and takes pride in whatever she does,” another coworker wrote. “She is a valuable coworker who easily garners respect and admiration for her patient, thorough and compassionate conduct. She is very knowledgeable about critical care respiratory skills and patient care policies, and is a true professional in every possible way.”
Anderson said she enjoys helping patients and their families, and finds her work gratifying.
“What I love most about my job is working with patients and their family members, and seeing the patient progress and improve to the point of discharge,” Anderson said. “It is very rewarding to see a patient go from being very ill and near death to walking out the door back to living their life.”
She is married to Tom Anderson and has two children—16-year-old Caley Sartin and 6-year-old Kelby Anderson. Anderson lives in Thaxton and attends Crosspointe Church in Tupelo.
