Kayla Orman Named NMMC’s Employee of the Month
TUPELO, Miss.—North Mississippi Medical Center has named Kayla Orman, CLPN, as Employee of the Month for September.
Orman, Worker’s Compensation claims specialist in NMMC’s Employee Health, joined the hospital in 2002. She previously worked on 5 South (Medical-Surgical) and at the Clinic for Digestive Disorders before joining Employee Health in 2005.
She is a Saltillo High School graduate and graduated with honors from Itawamba Community College, where she earned her CLPN. She is currently working toward her registered nurse/bachelor of science degree in nursing.
“I love my job and find personal satisfaction helping the employees I serve,” Orman said. “I work with the best team members, who are more like family. I feel truly blessed to work at NMMC.”
In her nomination, coworkers praised Orman as a team player and valuable teammate.
“Kayla is one of the most dedicated and caring people and nurses I’ve ever met,” one coworker wrote. “She has never once said ‘that isn’t my job,’ and always does more than her share. She comes in early, stays late and does whatever is needed to meet deadlines. She is intelligent, capable and dedicated to her patients and coworkers. Employee Health would not run as smoothly and efficiently without Kayla Orman.”
“Kayla has a working knowledge of almost every function of Employee Health and she never hesitates to jump in and help,” another coworker wrote. “You don’t have to ask for help, she just sees the need and starts to help. Kayla strives for excellence in everything she does. She is very organized and detail oriented, and desires to do things the right way every time.”
She is married to her high school sweetheart, John, and the couple has two children—Katlynn, age 18, a student at ICC, and Alex, age 8, a student at Saltillo Primary School. The family attends Tri-County Baptist Church, where Orman is involved with the children’s ministries.
