NMMC-Iuka Honors Prien as Outstanding Employee
IUKA, Miss.—Liz Prien, RN, has been selected by her peers as North Mississippi Medical Center-Iuka’s most recent Employee of the Quarter. She is a nurse in the Emergency Department.
She joined the hospital staff in 1991 as a paramedic, and transferred to the Emergency Department in 2007.
She is a graduate of Itawamba Agricultural High School, and she received her associate degree in nursing from Itawamba Community College in Fulton.
In her nomination, Prien was praised for her genuine personality. “She always has a smile and is never hesitant to help others,” said a coworker who nominated Prien. “She goes above and beyond for her patients and coworkers.”
She said her favorite part of her job is helping others in their time of need. “There are a lot of sick and hurting people, and I believe God’s purpose for us is to help each other and be a witness for Him,” she said. “We can always make a difference in other people’s lives with compassion and love. I am blessed to work with caring and supportive coworkers.”
She and her husband, Leonard, have one daughter, Valerie Davis, and one grandson, Bobby Davis.
They attend Antioch Baptist Church in Golden.
The Employee of the Quarter honor recognizes employees with exemplary job performance and customer service skills, as well as community involvement.
