NMMC-Iuka Nursing Staff Recognized for Gold Standard of Nursing

IUKA, Miss.—The nursing staff of North Mississippi Medical Center-Iuka was recently recognized by Hurst Ratings and Analytics for meeting high standards of excellence in nursing.

The Hurst Gold Standard of Nursing Award was only given to 11 hospitals in Mississippi. This award is given to hospitals whose nursing staff achieve top tier weighted scores in quality indicators associated with nursing care from recent publicly available Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey data published quarterly by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

The performance measures include:

  • Nurse communication
  • Responsiveness
  • Pain management
  • Medication communication
  • Care transition
  • Discharge information
