NMMC Names Susan Loden Employee of the Month
TUPELO, Miss.—North Mississippi Medical Center has named Susan Loden, Chemistry Core Lab supervisor in the Pathology Department, as Employee of the Month.
Loden joined NMMC in 1993. She was a medical laboratory scientist for 23 years before moving into her current supervisory role.
A graduate of Mooreville High School, Loden attended Itawamba Community College in Fulton and Mississippi State University in Starkville, earning a bachelor’s degree. She has earned certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
“What I love most about my job is being able to work with an amazing group of people,” Loden said. “We in the Pathology Department are each other’s biggest supporters and are truly a family.”
Her coworkers describe Loden as a hard worker and very dependable.
“As chemistry supervisor, Susan oversees many test procedures and various instrumentation,” one coworker wrote in her nomination. “She ensures that everything in her department runs smoothly and quality is her primary motivation. Susan is quick to act and never procrastinates. She is proactive and selfmotivated to do her job. She thinks ahead and does not wait for someone to tell her what to do next. She is extremely organized and handles a very stressful job with a cool head.”
“Susan is one of the hardest working people in the lab,” another coworker wrote. “She works diligently to make sure every patient is taken care of to the best of her ability. Susan is an extremely competent medical technologist who is dedicated to her job and never leaves her coworkers in a bind. She is well-respected by other supervisors and her employees because of her work ethic and commitment to doing the right thing.”
She and her husband Ricky have three children—20-year-old Chris, Kayla, 17 years old, and Carson, 8 years old. She is a member of Richmond Baptist Church.
