NMMC-Pontotoc, Health Care Foundation Award Medical Scholarships
PONTOTOC, Miss.—Kaitlyn Passmore of Pontotoc High School, Katie Ann Henry of North Pontotoc High School and Jessie Collums of South Pontotoc High School have been awarded $1,000 college scholarships from North Mississippi Medical Center-Pontotoc.
Passmore is the daughter of Amy Passmore. She was a member of the BETA Club, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Mayor’s Task Force and the ACT 30+ Club at Pontotoc High School. Passmore was also a member of the cheerleading squad and on the math/science competition team. She plans to attend the University of Mississippi.
Henry is the daughter of Patty Turk and the late Bill Henry III. Her stepfather is Shane Turk. She was a member of North Pontotoc’s basketball team, cheerleading squad and golf team as well as a member of the Future Business Leaders of America, Beta Club, Science Club, Mu Alpha Theta and the Student Council. Henry attends Friendship Baptist Church and plans to attend Itawamba Community College.
Collums is the daughter of Amy and Kelly Collums. She graduated ninth in her class and was a member of the Math and Science Team and Future Business Leaders of America at South Pontotoc High School. Collums plans to attend Itawamba Community College.
These scholarships are awarded annually to graduating high school seniors through the Health Care Foundation of North Mississippi. Award recipients are selected based on review of criteria that includes: ACT score, high school transcript, curriculum that pertains to their chosen field, extracurricular activities, letters of recommendation and the applicant’s personal statements.
