Dr. Joseph Johnsey Elected Chairman of NMMC Medical Staff
TUPELO, Miss.—Joseph Johnsey, M.D., was recently elected chairman of the North Mississippi Medical Center medical staff for 2018.
Dr. Johnsey is an emergency medicine physician on staff at NMMC.
Dr. Johnsey has more than 14 years of experience in health care operations and emergency medicine.
He graduated summa cum laude from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering in 1996. He received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson in 2002. He completed his emergency medicine residency at Washington University/Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., in 2006.
Dr. Johnsey is currently a physician executive master’s of business administration candidate at Auburn University in Alabama.
He currently serves as the medical director for North Mississippi Health Services Emergency Medical Services ground service.
He is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He is a member of the National Association of EMS Physicians, the Association of Air Medical Physicians, the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Association of Physician Executives.
