Floyd Honored with BEE Award
TUPELO, Miss.—Amber Floyd, unit coordinator and nursing assistant on the Pediatrics unit, recently received North Mississippi Medical Center’s BEE (Beyond Exceptional Expectations) Award for July.
Floyd was working as a unit coordinator and nursing assistant on 5 West at the time of her nomination. She received a certificate, a BEE Award pin, a bouquet donated by Bishop’s Flower Shop and a cake.
“My husband had been very sick, and he is a cancer patient. He had not eaten anything and all he felt like he could eat was a lemon icebox pie, and the cafeteria was closed,” a patient’s wife wrote in her nomination. “Ms. Amber Floyd was on her break, and she went and found a lemon icebox pie and purchased one for my husband and also bought one for me too! I wanted to acknowledge her for going out of her way to do something wonderful for my husband.”
A Plantersville resident, Floyd joined the NMMC staff in 2015. The BEE Award is given to a deserving caregiver each month at NMMC. Nomination forms are available throughout NMMC or at www.nmhs.net/bee_award.php. For more information, call (662) 377-3431 or email BEEAwards@nmhs.net.
