HealthWorks! Class to Prepare Young Babysitters

TUPELO, Miss.—HealthWorks! will offer Safe Sitter, a program to teach safe babysitting techniques for children 11 and older, on Tuesday, June 5.

Class runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at HealthWorks!, located at 219 S. Industrial Road. Dropoff is available at 8:45 a.m.

Call (662) 377-5437 to register by June 1. The $35 course fee includes all course materials. Students should bring their own lunch.

During the course, instructors will give students hands-on practice in life-saving techniques so they are prepared to act in the event of a crisis. Instructors also provide tips to make sitters more confident caregivers. They teach safety and security precautions, such as what to do if a stranger comes to the door, when and who to call for help, give information on child development and suggestions for age-appropriate activities.

Parents are invited to attend the graduation ceremony at 3:30 p.m. the final day.
