Lee Loden Named Employee of the Month at NMMC
TUPELO, Miss.—North Mississippi Medical Center has named Lee Loden, turnover team supervisor in Surgery, as April’s Employee of the Month.
Loden joined NMMC in 2011. He previously worked as a supervisor in Central Sterile Processing. Loden is a graduate of Itawamba Agricultural High School who then went on to complete the surgical technology program at Itawamba Community College in Fulton.
Loden said the best thing about his job is serving others.
“What I love most about my job is having the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus,” he said. “Getting not only to meet new people every day but seeing most of them in their hour of need. I feel like this affords me with a golden opportunity to show the love of Christ to everyone I meet, whether it’s through a kind word or a smile. I try my best to come to work each day with the goal of ‘I’m going to serve rather than be served.’ If it is good enough that Jesus did it for his disciples, then surely I can do it with the ones that I cross paths with every day.”
In his nomination, Loden’s coworkers describe him as a hard worker who leads by example.
“Lee is an excellent supervisor and his employees respond to his leadership positively,” one coworker wrote. “He shows kindness, compassion, love and generosity to his team. He leads by example and doesn’t just talk the talk, he walks the walk. As the supervisor of the turnover team, he has led the team to achieve many goals which I relate directly to his quality leadership. They have dramatically decreased turnover time since the inception of the team which has led to reduced costs and increased production.”
“During the time I have known and worked with Lee Loden, he has distinguished himself as a conscientious and energetic manager,” another person wrote. “His level of knowledge, outstanding attitude and ability to perform his duties has proven outstanding during his employment at North Mississippi Medical Center. I have enormous respect for his leadership skills and dedication to work. I have been pleased to work with him on many occasions, and have the highest admiration for his work ability and dedication to the patient’s well-being.”
Loden is married to wife Melissa. His family also includes son Chase Gholston (and fiancé Amanda Huppert), daughter Paige Short (and husband Aaron), daughter Madison Loden, and 17-month-old grandson Clark Short. Another grandson, Will, is due in August. Loden resides in Fulton and attends First Baptist Church in Mantachie.
