NMMC Cancer Care Seeking Nominations for Breast Cancer Advocate Award
TUPELO, Miss.—North Mississippi Medical Center’s Cancer Care is seeking nominations for its Breast Cancer Advocate Award.
The award will be presented to an individual who has made a difference for breast cancer patients in NMMC Cancer Care’s service area. The award will be given in October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The award recipient will receive a set of 2018 Breast Cancer Awareness Commemorative Coins approved by the United States Mint. Inscribed on the back of the coin is the Latin phrase “E pluribus unum.” This motto was adopted by the United States in 1776 and is found on other means of U.S. currency. The inscription is translated to read, “Out of many, one.” This mantra is also applicable to the efforts of many individuals who diligently work to find a cure for and positively impact the lives of those with breast cancer.
Dr. Charles Montgomery, hematologist/oncologist, envisioned the award to honor the efforts of dedicated individuals in the fight against breast cancer.
Nomination forms can be found at the reception desk of NMMC’s Cancer Care at 961 S. Gloster St., NMMC Radiation Oncology, NMMC Breast Care Center, Sander’s Clinic for Women, OBGYN Associates, Surgery Clinic of Tupelo, Surgery Associates and NMMC’s Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/north.mississippi.medical.center/.
