NMMC Names Safety Director
TUPELO, Miss.—North Mississippi Medical Center recently named Jeff Bonds, RN, MSN, of Tishomingo, as safety director.
Bonds joined NMMC as a critical care nurse in 2000 and has served in various roles, including educator, and most recently as performance improvement coordinator. As PI coordinator, Bonds worked extensively in the areas of efficiency, high reliability and patient safety.
He received associate degrees from Northeast Mississippi Community College and Itawamba Community College, a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of North Alabama, and a master’s degree in executive nursing administration from the University of South Alabama.
As safety director, Bonds will develop and oversee the general health and safety policies and procedures of the organization. He will ensure the workplace complies with OSHA, The Joint Commission, and other state, local or industry-specific regulations, and that periodic safety audits are conducted. He will provide programs that ensure a safe workplace, including safety orientations, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction for hazardous material disposal procedures and the use of protective equipment. He will also implement initiatives to reduce and prevent accidents, occupational illnesses and exposure to long-term health hazards.
Bonds and his wife, Susan, have one son – Dr. Cameron Bonds and his wife, Molly.
