NMMC-West Point Names Rumore as Director of Facility Operations
WEST POINT, Miss.—North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point recently named Howard Rumore as director of Facility Operations.
A 1988 graduate of Mississippi State University in Starkville, Rumore earned a bachelor’s degree in communication. After graduation he joined an information technology company in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area, where he worked as Helpdesk manager, project manager and contract manager. Before leaving Texas in 2004, he was responsible for Quality and Project management for clients including Babcock and Wilcox, Halliburton, Schlumberger, and Brown and Root. After moving to north Mississippi, he continued to work as an IT consultant for about two years before starting his own remodeling and construction business.
In 2014, Rumore joined the Facility Operations Department at NMMC-Eupora. When North Mississippi Health Services took over the former Kilmichael Hospital facility, he assisted with its renovation and upon opening in 2015, became the office manager of Kilmichael Family Medical Clinic.
He graduated from the Mississippi State Fire Academy with certification as a volunteer firefighter. Rumore is an ordained deacon at his church. He is married to Paula Rumore, and they have one daughter, Mary, who is also an MSU graduate and resides in Starkville. The Rumores also have three dogs and one “grand-dog.”
“My main hobby is bass fishing. I fish in a few tournaments and try to make a few trips back to Texas to fish each year,” Rumore said. “Living on a lake makes it pretty convenient to get out for a few hours by myself, clear my head and fish. I also enjoy deer and especially turkey hunting.”
